School of Theology Research Degrees Union School of Theology is excited to announce a new collaborative partnership with the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Free University of Amsterdam) enabling UST to offer its research degree for graduate students in theology. The Vrije Universiteit (VU) is one of Europe’s leading universities, with a strong interest in Reformed theology, so this is an exciting partnership. In the recent QS rating of universities the Vrije Universiteit ranks no. 5 worldwide in the field of Theology and Religious Studies. PhD students will therefore benefit from UST’s experienced and highly-qualified research supervisors, working in partnership with the scholarly expertise and world-class research resources of the Theology Faculty at VU Amsterdam. We are looking forward to the many benefits that will be gained through this academic co-operation and the enhancement of the research environments and activities of UST and VU. This partnership builds on the heritage of UST’s work in promoting research in Evangelical and Reformed theology, and the substantial experience of successfully supervising successful students to PhD completion. Added to this will be the expertise of professors within the faculty of Theology of VU as promoters and supervisors of UST PhD students. UST’s welcomes PhD research students particularly in the fields of Biblical Studies, Historical Theology and Church History. Union is dedicated to raising up the next generation of Christian scholars who will resource and equip the church with theology of the highest quality. Our research degrees give students the opportunity to explore their subject in great depth, supported by a dedicated supervisory team led by Professor Robert Letham.
