At Union, we believe one of the greatest blessings that God gives us is adoption into his family. That means we long to be more than just an organisation or institution, we long to be a family who delight together in God and grow in Christ. Chika, a new BA student from Nigeria, tells us how she’s been welcomed into the Union family.

"I’ve just moved from Nigeria, with my husband Chris, to study for the BA on campus. I’m training to be a Scripture Reader with SASRA – an organisation that supports personal evangelism in the armed forces (The Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Scripture Readers Association). I was anxious about making such a big move, but in God’s kindness, I’ve found a loving family in Union. The staff and students have made us feel so welcome and we’re so thankful to our Father that we’ve quickly become part of the campus community.

The course is excellent, and I really value how the BA combines strong academic training with rich personal and pastoral formation. The lecturers have been so supportive in helping me adjust to the academic studies.

One of the greatest encouragements I’ve had is how strongly Union values prayer. Both staff and students meet regularly to spend time together with our Lord. That time is a great blessing. If you are thinking about campus study, but are anxious about moving, I can happily encourage you to just do it – you’ll find a family who delight in God and heartily love each other."
